Jake Esp

Jake Esp is a personal injury attorney and a relentless advocate for individuals harmed by negligence. At Postman Law, he is committed to delivering exceptional results through diligence, preparation, and strategic advocacy. As a fourth-generation personal injury attorney, he brings a deep-rooted understanding of the field, along with insight from both sides of personal injury litigation, allowing him to position clients for success at every stage of their case.

Prior to joining Postman Law, Jake practiced at a well-regarded plaintiff’s firm in Chicago, where he handled a wide range of personal injury matters, including commercial trucking collisions, motor vehicle collisions, and premises liability cases from inception through resolution. He also gained valuable experience on the defense side at an insurance defense firm, representing insurers in cases involving construction negligence, trucking and motor vehicle collisions, and premises liability. This dual perspective gives Jake unique insight into how insurance companies evaluate and defend claims. Jake’s skill and dedication have earned him recognition as a 2025 Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Star, an honor awarded to a select group of outstanding early-career attorneys.

He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Northern Illinois University College of Law and received his undergraduate degree from Villanova University, where he was a Division I baseball player.

Jake is admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois and before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
